Sarah Haessler, MD

Dr. Haessler is the Vice Chair for Clinical Operations for the Department of Medicine, and the Hospital Epidemiologist in the division of Infectious Diseases at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield Massachusetts, and an Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, Baystate. She received her medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Haessler is the co-Director of the SHEA/CDC Training Course for Healthcare Epidemiology and the Chair of the SHEA Education Committee. Her research interest focuses on the use of large datasets to assess the risks and outcomes of healthcare-associated infections.
