Kerri A. Thom, MD, MS

Kerri A. Thom, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health and Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Assistant Dean for Student Research and Education. Dr. Thom received her medical degree from the University of Florida, College of Medicine and her Master of Science degree in Clinical Research and Epidemiology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She completed her postgraduate training in internal medicine and underwent subsequent training in infectious disease at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Dr. Thom’s research has two main areas of focus and includes the study of antimicrobial resistant pathogens and prevention of infections in the healthcare setting. She is currently supported by the AHRQ and the CDC.
